Anger cannot be overcome by anger. If someone is angry with you, and you show anger in return, the result is a disaster. On the other hand, if you control your anger and show its opposite – love, compassion, tolerance, and patience – not only will you remain peaceful, but the other person's anger will also diminish.

Anger and your health
Anger is a normal and healthy emotion, but managing anger can be a problem for many people who find it difficult to keep their anger under control.

Uncontrolled anger can be a health issues and is linked to heart attack, high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, colds, flu and digestion problems.

Anger doesn't have to be a problem. "You can control your anger says clinical psychologist Isabel Clarke, a specialist in anger management. "It can feel intimidating, but it can be energising too."

You can Recognise your anger when your heart beats faster and you breathe more quickly. There are other signs such as tension in your shoulders or clenching your fists. If you feal you are losing control then just count to 10 this gives you time to cool down so you can think more clearly and overcome the impulse to lash out.

Breathing slowly out longer than you breathe in, and relax as you breathe out. "You automatically breathe in more than out when you're feeling angry, and the trick is to breathe out more than in, this could calm you down and help you think more clearly.

You cam manage anger in the long term by learning to recognise the signs that you're getting angry and try to calm yourself down by starting to look at ways to control your anger more generally.

Exercise is a good way to bring down your general stress levels. Exercise, relaxation, running, walking, swimming, yoga and meditation are just a few of the activities that can help reduce stress.

It is very important to look after yourself and make time to relax regularly, and ensure that you get enough sleep. Drugs and alcohol can make anger problems worse by lowering your inhibitions, but we need inhibitions to stop us acting unacceptably when we're angry

Writing, dancing, making music or painting can release tension and help reduce feelings of anger.

Another good way to relax is to soak yourself in a bath with a good bath oil.

Our range of Moisturising Body and Bath oils contains Extra Virgin coconut oil and  pure essential oils .

When choosing your bath oil why not vary your oils, we have a choice of zingy, invigorating lime or mandarin oils, or sensual Ylang Ylang oil.

Our Massage & Bath Oils are there to satisfy your needs at the time of use. Make sure you have more than one in you bathroom to meet your different moods. Whether it is to be relaxed, be Sensual or just be Therapeutic.

We think this is the best way to stay calm and should be part of your anger control management.
