With all these claims being made has prompted a lot of research about what is in broccoli and at what level. Broccoli contains a substantial amount of nutrients including vitamins A, C, folic acid, fiber and calcium but research has proven that some broccoli has a lot less than others but to the consumer here is no simple way of checking this as only laboratory tests could do this.



It is rumored that the Agriculture Department hopes the broccoli research will lead to new hybrids richer in glucoraphanin.

These claims have caused an increase in the amount of people including broccoli in their daily diet, but before you do this it is important that for you to get the best health benefits of this vegetable you eat the right amount and cook it the correct way.

Although this product has many benefits if eaten excessively it could harm the body for instance, if you are taking a blood thinning medications, it is not safe to eat an excessive amount of broccoli as it may interfere with your medications and increase your risk of suffering from a stroke. There are many ways to prepare and eat broccoli but eating it raw is the best way to benefit from all its nutrients. If you prefer to cook it, use a low cooker or steam for approximately five minutes.



Whatever the outcome broccoli is a great addition to your diet and should be part of your five a day vegetables, but should not be thought of as the preventer of illnesses as listed above.
